The uptick to 458 million album sales was helped by the hugely popular sophomore album “21” from British singer Adele, which sold 5.8 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Huge interest in Adele also led to the sales of 856,000 copies of “19,” her debut album from 2008.

Parenting a child w/ADD - a new hope
Starting a new year with the hopes that it will continue to get better. December was no picnic but I’ll blame an irregular schedule, too many activities and lose of sleep for some of the struggle. It can be difficult to get through the holidays without messing up everything you work for all year.
2010 was the best yet. New medication, less demanding curriculum, an amazingly understanding and supportive teacher then sitting out on extra curricular activities has made a huge difference.
Amazed that in fourth grade she’s reading at an eighth grade level but still struggles to recall multiplication tables quickly. I can’t complain, I wasn’t and still aren’t great at memorizing things. Strange that division seems a bit easier though.
Extremely motivated by a series of books about cats, “Warriors” to be exact. Just can’t read them fast enough and is always wanting more. She’s encourage her friends to read them and developed a “club” so they can share stories, ask each other questions, play games and become closer as friends. Recently, she’s become interested in the “Gaurdians of Ga’hoole” series about owl and reads then between Warrior books. I’m blown away by her thurst for reading. I hated to read till a couple years ago and enve the range of creatively written and put together books she’s been able to enjoy. I have to thank Geronimo Stilton, she started out hooked on those, such fun and mysterious books. I don’t think she’d have become the reader she is today if she hadn’t found them.
She becomes more and more interested in animals, loves cats and seems good with most animals we’ve incountered.
I’m starting to see more of a young girl in her but not looking forward to when she starts developing into a women or the teen years. She can be pretty sensitive and I’m scared what she’ll be like if it’s magnified. I don’t mind at all if she’s a bit of a Tom boy. She’s got plenty of time to deal with girly stuff. I’m kind of excited to she how her personality developed and how she sees herself as she matures. Hope she doesn’t get wrapped up in physical appearance or attributes. She’s either blessed with almost no body fat or just hasn’t caught up to her metabolism. Sometimes I think I should give her a Big Mac and large fries or a protein shakes. Even when she was a baby she’d stretch and show you her six pack of abs. Super model tall as my mom calls it, might not be a bad profession, has the eyelashes to accompany the career and big, beautiful blue eyes. Crazy to think what adventure she’ll choose.
For now, we are taking it all in one day at a time and just trying to stay strong.
Parent of a child with ADD
Totally new to blogging but thought I’d try it about being the parent of a child with ADD. I know I’m not the only one but sometimes it feels like it. I hope to connect with others or at least look back on this for strength.
